Biography
Michel Dubois is a French sociologist and a Senior Research Fellow CNRS. A former deputy director of a CNRS international research unit based in Los Angeles and Washington DC focused on environmental epigenetics, he currently serves as director of GEMASS lab, a social science laboratory affiliated with CNRS and Sorbonne University in Paris (France). His recent work has explored research integrity, the self-correction mechanisms of science, and the public image of science. Recent publications include “The Retraction Gender Gap: Are Mixed Teams More Vulnerable?” (Quantitative Science Studies, MIT Press, 2025) and “Streetlight Effect in PubPeer Comments: Are Open Access Publications More Scrutinized?” (Scientometrics, Springer, 2024). In September 2025, he will publish a book on the evolving landscape of research integrity, co-authored with C. Guaspare (Presses Universitaires de France, Paris, France).
